The Avon Plan Commission convened on March 24, 2025, to discuss significant developments in the Whispering Pines area, focusing on a proposed residential project by Pulte Homes. The meeting began with a review of the open space requirements for the development, confirming that the project exceeds the minimum requirement of 8%, with approximately 5.56 acres of open space planned.
David Compton, Vice President of Land Acquisition for Pulte Homes, presented the updated plans for the last phase of the Whispering Pines development. He explained that the project had undergone changes since its initial proposal, reducing the number of lots from 71 to 64 to enhance land planning and preserve more green space. Compton emphasized the decision to create two ponds for improved water quality and drainage, rather than just one, which aligns with the community's environmental goals.
