The communications department received accolades for its outstanding work, winning 16 awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association competition. This recognition underscored the district's commitment to effective communication and community engagement.
A pivotal moment of the meeting came with the approval of a resolution to name the new middle school after Ursula Rayko, a beloved educator who dedicated over 42 years to Rockwall ISD. Her legacy of inspiring students and contributing to curriculum development was honored as the board unanimously voted to name the school Ursula Rayko Middle School, ensuring her impact on education will be remembered for generations to come.
