The Parks and Recreation Committee of West Bend City made significant strides in community engagement and funding during their meeting on October 31, 2024. Notably, Gears Inc. contributed $2,000 from their beer garden proceeds, while the West Bend Disc Golf Club donated $540 for improvements to the disc golf course. Additionally, the Ice Age Trail Alliance pledged a substantial $72,490 for trail enhancements, including a new trailhead.

The committee also discussed the upcoming installation of a new scoreboard at Quass Creek, funded by a $7,025 donation from the West Bend Athletic Association. These contributions reflect a strong community commitment to improving local parks and recreational activities.

In terms of future projects, the committee is looking to utilize park fees, which currently stand at $657,000, for various developments, including the Aqua Park and Nature Playground. The Aqua Park project is particularly exciting, with plans to go out to bid soon, aiming for completion by the summer of 2025. However, this may impact the traditional ice skating season at Regner Beach, as dredging work is scheduled for the winter.
