As the sun begins to warm the air in West Bend, excitement is brewing for a bustling season of community events. During the recent Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, officials unveiled an impressive lineup of over 56 events planned for the year, starting with the much-anticipated Bachfest this Saturday at Regner Park.
The festivities will continue with the Easter Egg Hunt on March 23, co-hosted with the Lions Club, also at Regner Park. This family-friendly event promises to bring joy to children and parents alike, as they search for hidden treasures in the park's entertainment area.
April will see a flurry of activities, beginning with a Kids' Fishing Clinic on April 13, organized by the Early Risers Kiwanis. This free event aims to introduce local youth to the joys of fishing, taking place near the fish pond in Regner Park. Following that, on April 20, the community will come together for a Spring Cleanup with Roots and Branches, where volunteers will help maintain the park's 1,300 acres of green space.
May is set to be equally vibrant, featuring the Baird Shred event on May 9 at Kister Island parking lot, providing residents a chance to securely dispose of sensitive documents. The Lac La Ranne Wildflower Sale, a beloved annual fundraiser, will take place on Mother's Day weekend, May 11, offering native plants at affordable prices.
The month will culminate with a Fun Run organized in collaboration with Silverbrook Intermediate School on May 29, with a rain date of May 30. This event will see students and families running along the scenic Eisenbond Trail and Riverwalk, fostering community spirit and health.
New this year is the Regner Park Beach Beer Garden, scheduled for May 30 and June 1. This two-day event, organized by the Gears organization and the recreation division, promises a relaxed atmosphere for attendees to enjoy local brews by the beach.
With such a diverse array of events on the horizon, West Bend is poised for a lively and engaging season, inviting residents to come together and celebrate their community.
