In a recent meeting of the Manchester City Council's Planning Board, a significant request for a one-year extension to commence site work was discussed. The extension pertains to a previously approved site plan for API New Hampshire Realty LLC, represented by Granite Engineering LLC. The original site plan, which received final approval on February 8, 2023, includes plans for a substantial addition of 34,500 square feet of warehouse space and 3,500 square feet of elevated covered storage to an existing manufacturing and warehousing facility located at 190 Zachary Road.
The representatives from Granite Engineering, Kim Harrington and Jeff Merritt, outlined the details of the project, emphasizing that the site improvements also encompass necessary stormwater updates and landscaping enhancements. An alteration of terrain permit has been secured for the project, which is valid until November 2027. Additionally, a conditional use permit was granted to reduce on-site parking requirements, based on the existing capacity and the number of employees—66 workers are currently employed, with the same number expected post-construction.

Subscribe for Free The request for an extension was prompted by fluctuations in construction costs that previously hindered the project's progress. However, API New Hampshire Realty LLC remains committed to moving forward, with plans to initiate construction this spring. This development is crucial not only for the company but also for the local economy, as it promises to enhance the industrial capacity of the area and potentially create more jobs.
The Planning Board's approval of the extension reflects a broader trend in Manchester, where the city is actively working to support local businesses amid economic challenges. As the council continues to navigate these developments, the implications for the community and local employment opportunities remain a focal point of interest. The next steps will involve monitoring the commencement of construction and ensuring compliance with the approved plans.
