Tatiana, who placed fifth in the inaugural New York State Girls High School Wrestling Championship, encouraged young athletes to join the wrestling team, highlighting the sport's ability to build resilience and strength. Her coach praised her as a trailblazer, confident in her potential to achieve even greater success in the future.
Ava Panaccio, a twelfth grader, also received accolades for her outstanding performance in track and field. She won the New York State championship in the 1,500-meter event, setting a personal record of 4 minutes and 26.5 seconds. Ava, who will continue her running career at Cornell University, thanked her coaches and teammates for their unwavering support.
In addition to recognizing these exceptional students, the Board of Education addressed community inquiries regarding the school calendar for the upcoming year. The calendar is set to be adopted in the consent agenda, providing clarity for Eastchester residents.
