The Morton Grove Village Board of Trustees convened on March 25, 2025, to address various agenda items, including the approval of meeting minutes, special reports, and several ordinances and resolutions.
The meeting commenced with a roll call, confirming the presence of all trustees. The board approved the minutes from the regular meeting held on February 25, 2025, as well as closed session minutes from multiple dates spanning from March 2017 to September 2024.

The winners, who will each receive a $25 gift card, were recognized for their participation in supporting local dining establishments.
Following this, the Board of Fire and Police Commissioner Chairperson, Mike Simpkins, swore in three new firefighters: Eamon Tucmana, Nicholas Allman, and Chris Frigonardis. Each firefighter shared their background and expressed excitement about serving the Morton Grove community.
In the President's report, it was noted that the MCC and Unity Islamic Center would be providing lunch to village staff in recognition of Ramadan. The Mayor also highlighted the importance of interfaith relationships within the community.
Clerk Saba provided a reminder about the upcoming consolidated general election on April 1, 2025, and announced that early voting is available at the American Legion Memorial Civic Center until March 31.
Village Administrator Chuck presented several ordinances for consideration. The board approved Ordinance 25-09, which sets the commencement date for the terms of office for elected officials following the April election. Ordinance 25-10, amending the Code of Ethics and Family and Senior Services Department, was also passed.
Additionally, the board discussed Ordinance 25-13, which updates regulations for electronic attendance at public meetings, aligning with state law. Lastly, Resolution 25-18, concerning the release of certain closed session meeting minutes and the destruction of older verbatim records, was approved.
Trustee Shiba proposed Resolution 25-14 to renew the service agreement with Comcast Business Communications for enhanced internet connectivity between village facilities, which was seconded and discussed.
The meeting concluded with no further reports from trustees, and the board expressed gratitude for the community's engagement and support.
