Clearfield Community Center launches new programs for first-time mothers

The Clearfield City Council meeting on March 25, 2025, highlighted significant community initiatives aimed at supporting new mothers and enhancing local programs. The introduction of a new program called "Baby and You" is making waves, offering first-time moms valuable resources and support. Currently, 16 mothers are participating in this initiative, which focuses on education and community building.

The program recently celebrated the graduation of six mothers who learned essential skills for childcare. In addition to "Baby and You," the council discussed the "Welcome Baby" home visiting program, designed for families with children aged 0 to 3. This initiative encourages learning through play and helps prepare children for kindergarten while fostering connections among mothers.

The community closet has also made a significant impact, distributing 6,500 items from August to December, showcasing the council's commitment to supporting families in need. The council expressed hopes to expand programming at the community center to further assist students and parents in Clearfield.

In addition to these community-focused discussions, the council moved on to address proposed amendments to recreation fees, building rental fees, aquatic membership fees, and the introduction of green waste fees. This second public hearing aims to gather community input on these important financial adjustments.
