City Council approves kayak rental and glamping contracts at Wildwood Park

Columbia County's Community and Emergency Services Committee meeting on March 26, 2025, highlighted a series of approvals aimed at enhancing local recreational services and community support.

The committee kicked off with a discussion on the Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental, which operates under a separate contract from the bicycle rental service. In a show of community support, the committee also approved donations for bridal services, with contributions of $200, $100, and $200 from local residents Rosa Bonchalk, Yolanda Leahy, and Jerome Dagatansky. The approval process was smooth, with no objections raised.

A notable mention was a $2,500 donation to the senior center from WellCare, which was also approved without dissent.

Additionally, the committee discussed a contract with Georgia Glamping Company for glamping services at Wildwood Park. This initiative has been successful since its launch in 2020, indicating a positive trend in outdoor recreational offerings.
