Nevada Legislature implements $1.2B budget cuts amid revenue shortfalls and ARRA funding

In a recent meeting of the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means, Nevada lawmakers discussed significant budgetary measures aimed at addressing the state's ongoing revenue shortfalls. The meeting highlighted a series of strategies implemented during the 75th legislative session, which included substantial cuts to salaries, merit pay freezes, and targeted reductions in major programs, particularly in education and healthcare.
