Encina Wastewater Authority adopts monthly billing to improve cash flow

During the recent City Council meeting in Encinitas, significant discussions centered around land use regulations and housing initiatives, reflecting the community's ongoing efforts to address local needs.

One of the key topics was the approval of a General Plan Amendment (GPA) aimed at clarifying land use for religious facilities. Council members emphasized that any new construction on designated religious land would be limited strictly to religious uses, preventing the establishment of commercial businesses in those areas. Additionally, the council discussed housing provisions for very low and low-income residents, particularly in relation to staff housing at religious facilities. It was noted that such housing would likely not contribute to the city’s Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) numbers, as it would not be open to the public. The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department also received accolades, winning three awards at the California Park and Recreation Society conference, including recognition for the Pacific View Arts Center and the Cyclovia Encinitas Open Street event.
