DECA team and freshmen prepare for international competition in Orlando

The Township of Ocean School District Board of Education meeting on March 25, 2025, highlighted several exciting events and updates that will engage students and the community in the coming weeks.

One of the most notable announcements was the participation of the DECA officer team and a group of freshmen who will compete at DECA's international conference in Orlando, Florida, at the end of the month. This opportunity not only showcases the talents of our students but also brings recognition to the district on a national stage.

In addition to DECA, the board shared details about upcoming events that promise to foster community spirit and student involvement. The Girls Varsity Club will host a fashion show at the middle school on April 9 at 7 PM, providing a platform for creativity and expression among students. Following that, the coffee house will hold an event on April 10 at 6 PM in the Black Box Theater at the high school, offering another chance for students to showcase their talents.

On the sports front, teams are gearing up for their spring schedules. The girls and boys lacrosse teams are set to play their first games this Friday and Monday, respectively, with the girls traveling to Manalapan and the boys heading to Brook Township. Softball and baseball are also preparing for their season openers, with softball playing at Toms River South on Thursday and baseball hosting Monmouth on Monday. Boys tennis will have their first match at home against Shore on Thursday, and golf will compete against Point Pleasant Borough tomorrow. Additionally, the girls soccer team is organizing a Chipotle fundraiser on April 2 to support their season.
