Residents of Miami Gardens can look forward to a month filled with community engagement and valuable resources as the City Council outlined several upcoming events during their regular meeting on March 26, 2025.
Councilwoman Katrina Baskin announced a mentorship symposium titled "Building Legacy for Global Impact," scheduled for Saturday, April 5, from 9 AM to 2 PM at Betty T. Ferguson. This event aims to connect mentors from various fields, including education and counseling, to enhance their skills and foster impactful relationships with youth.

Subscribe for Free In addition to the symposium, Baskin highlighted a mentorship program for boys aged 8 to 16, starting on April 7 at Buccaneer Park. This initiative will focus on essential life skills such as conflict resolution and social engagement, providing young participants with guidance from local mentors.
On April 8, Baskin will host her monthly community collaboration meeting at Buccaneer Park, offering residents a platform to voice concerns and discuss community issues. Furthermore, on April 12, the city will partner with Florida Memorial University for Roar Fest, a festival celebrating music and culture, featuring competitions and community activities.
Councilwoman Katrina Wilson also shared updates, expressing gratitude for community support during recent events and announcing the upcoming Juneteenth Park and Party at Ives Dairy. She encouraged residents to participate in the Miami Carol City's Ninth Annual Chief Hall Picnic on April 12, which will include a raffle with no tax implications for winners.
Councilwoman Powell reminded residents about the "Talk with the Doc" event on April 1 at Bunch Park and urged them to vote for their favorite local businesses in the Residents' Choice Award, with nominations closing on March 30.
