The Beloit School District held a Regular Board Meeting on February 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., featuring a series of recognitions and announcements aimed at celebrating student achievements and informing the community about upcoming events.
The meeting commenced with Principal Malat and Vice Principal Clete introducing a student, Bradley, who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Following this, Board Clerk Tom Hankins provided a series of announcements. Notable upcoming events include an informational session regarding a referendum on February 20 at the Boyd Public Library, a "Hot Chili Cool Jazz" event on February 23 featuring high school jazz students, and early childhood screenings for children not yet enrolled in school on February 26. Additionally, there will be a coffee connection with elementary principals on the same day and an evening referendum session at The Rock on February 27.

TLE Chairperson Schneider highlighted the achievements of students in grades 3 through 5 who participated in the Imagine Math contest, which began in September. The students collectively raised $1,116 for the wealthy environmental center, surpassing their goal of $2,000. Additionally, two fourth-grade classrooms received national recognition for their participation in a contest supporting veterans.
Schneider emphasized the positive impact of the Imagine Math program on students' skills and future academic performance. Special recognition was given to Bradley for donating the highest dollar amount through the program, having completed over 50 lessons, significantly exceeding the goal of 30 lessons for the year.
The meeting concluded with further acknowledgments of student accomplishments, including the middle school spelling bee contest winners. Nineteen students participated in the district's spelling bee, with Darby O'Brien from Aldrich and Cassidy Barcheza from Fruzan advancing to the regional competition.
