The Appleton Area School District Board Meeting on December 9, 2024, featured a special presentation by student representative Olivia Feng from Appleton North, who shared several notable achievements from her school.
Feng highlighted the success of the boys volleyball team, which recently triumphed over Kimberly in a thrilling five-set match to secure a spot in the state tournament. Although they lost to Germantown in the tournament, the team earned recognition for selling the most tickets in a contest, resulting in a $1,000 prize from the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

Flanagan's achievement marks her as one of the few students to win an individual state championship, and her name will be added to the school's list of champions.
Feng also reported that the Appleton North one-act cast and crew received their 26th consecutive Critics' Choice Award for their performance of "King Lear" at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Theater Festivals. The school also won awards for outstanding ensemble and technical theater, with two students earning individual acting awards.
The meeting transitioned to a public input session, where community members were invited to share their thoughts.
