Irmo plans Cherry Blossom Festival and multiple community events through April

The Irmo Town Council meeting on March 18, 2025, highlighted an exciting lineup of community events aimed at bringing residents together and fostering local engagement. The most notable announcement was the upcoming Irmo Cherry Blossom Festival, scheduled for this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Irmo Town Park. This festival promises a variety of activities, including a Japanese import car drive-in, making it a vibrant celebration for families and car enthusiasts alike.

In addition to the Cherry Blossom Festival, the council shared details about several other events that will take place in the coming weeks. The Spring Arts and Crafts Market will be held at the South Carolina State Farmers Market on March 22 and 23, featuring numerous vendors with free admission and parking. This market aims to support local artisans and provide a platform for community shopping.

The Border Series Skatepark Competition is set for March 28 and 29 at Rawls Creek Park, offering a national all-ages skateboarding contest. This event is free to attend and will include competitions and awards, encouraging participation from local skaters.

The Irmo Theatre Company will present "Mamma Mia" on April 3, 4, and 5 at the Center for the Arts, providing an opportunity for residents to enjoy live theater. Additionally, the Columbia Open Studios event will allow residents to tour local artist studios, promoting the arts within the community.

On April 5, multiple family-friendly events will take place, including the Springfest at Dutch Fork High School, which will feature music, food trucks, and a kickball tournament to raise funds for local educational initiatives. Simultaneously, the Easter Extravaganza at Irmo Town Park will offer activities such as pictures with the Easter Bunny and egg hunts.

The meeting also announced the Irmo Community Earth Day celebration on April 26, which will focus on environmental education and community involvement, alongside the Sharpview Irmo International Festival, celebrating global cultures through food and performances.
