He designed and built 12 signs made from pecan wood sourced from the historic Come and Take It battle site. Each sign, which includes a unique serial number, was presented to various local leaders, including the Mayor and City Manager, as a tribute to the city’s rich history.
Hobazal’s project, supported by local historical experts and the Chamber of Commerce, aims to educate residents and visitors about Gonzales' historical significance, particularly its role in Texas Independence. His family’s long-standing connection to the area since 1881 adds a personal touch to this community-driven effort.
The meeting also included recognition of city employees and community volunteers, emphasizing the collaborative spirit that drives Gonzales forward. As the city continues to embrace new developments and honor its history, residents can look forward to a vibrant future shaped by both economic growth and cultural appreciation.
