In a recent Weber County Commission meeting, officials discussed significant changes aimed at enhancing community infrastructure and development. One of the key topics was the official renaming of the Weber County Community Reinvestment Agency (CRA), aligning with a statewide shift from Redevelopment Agencies (RDA) to Community Reinvestment Agencies. This change, which had been pending since 2016, aims to clarify the agency's role in creating community reinvestment areas, making it easier for residents to understand its functions.
Commissioner Gage Fore, alongside Economic Development Director Stephanie Russell and Planning Department representative Tammy Adelott, highlighted a specific development project in Nordic Valley. The Nordic Valley Ski Resort has proposed relocating a section of Nordic Valley Way to facilitate the construction of a roundabout, which is expected to improve traffic flow and safety in the area. The relocation involves vacating a portion of the existing road adjacent to the resort and moving it approximately 135 feet east.

Officials assured that the vacation would not take effect until the new road is fully constructed, accepted, and approved by Weber County. This careful planning aims to minimize disruptions to traffic and ensure public safety, particularly for emergency services that often face challenges accessing the area during peak winter months.
The anticipated improvements are expected to benefit both the ski resort and the surrounding community, enhancing connectivity and safety for residents and visitors alike. As the project progresses, officials expressed optimism that the new roadway will be operational by the end of the year, marking a significant step forward for Nordic Valley and its residents.
