One of the most exciting announcements was the introduction of an outdoor ice skating rink, a collaboration with the Dallas Stars. Set to debut at the Holiday Main Street Festival on December 7, the rink will be located on Martin Drive and will remain open until December 29. The city is offering free admission and skate rentals, making it accessible for all residents to enjoy this festive activity.

In addition to the skating rink, the council promoted the Holiday Main Street Fest and parade scheduled for December 7 from 5 to 8 PM. This event will feature children's activities, food, crafts, and a parade of lights, encouraging community participation and holiday spirit.

Other announcements included the return of the "12 Days of Christmas" events starting December 13, the "Light Up Rowlett Awards" for holiday displays, and the "Christmas Trees on Main" initiative, which will decorate downtown Rowlett throughout the holiday season.
