Madison County officials have taken significant steps to enhance local governance and community services during their recent meeting on March 26, 2025. The Commission approved the revised Madison County Farmers Handbook for 2025, which outlines operational changes for the Farmers Market on Cook Avenue. This updated handbook establishes market hours on Saturdays from 8 AM to 4 PM and adjusts rental rates for vendors. The revisions aim to improve the market's functionality as discussions continue regarding new tenants for the commercial space.
Commissioner Vandiver emphasized the ongoing efforts to refine the market's operations, noting that further plans will be developed following the bid results for the commercial end, expected on June 17. This proactive approach reflects the Commission's commitment to enhancing community engagement and market viability.
