Clay County is set to undergo significant infrastructure improvements following a recent Planning Commission meeting where key projects were outlined. The meeting highlighted ten major road construction initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and traffic flow throughout the county.
One of the most notable projects is the Live Oak Lane improvement, which includes new pavement and the construction of the Sun Trail project, with work commencing immediately. Additionally, Spencer Industrial Drive will see the development of a new four-lane road funded by a Florida jobs growth grant, with construction expected to begin in May.

Subscribe for Free Bridal Road will connect existing roads to improve access to Town Centre Boulevard, with construction notices anticipated for this fall. A major focus is on County Road 220, where a four-lane widening and intersection improvements are already underway, with completion projected for summer 2026.
Other projects include signal installations and intersection improvements at Lakeshore Drive West and Canova Road, with completion expected later this year. The Florida Department of Transportation is also involved, with resurfacing projects on US 17 and Black Creek Bridge slated for completion in the coming years.
In addition to road improvements, the county is investing in public safety infrastructure, with five new fire stations under construction and an animal shelter project recently breaking ground. The expansion of public facilities, including a new library and a substance use disorder recovery center, is also in the works.
