Brentwood Police Department honors Officer Javi Hobby as Officer of the Year

During the recent Board of Aldermen meeting in Brentwood, the community celebrated the achievements of local law enforcement, highlighting the dedication and contributions of its officers.

Officer Javi Hobby was honored as the Officer of the Year, recognized for his vibrant personality and strong connections with both colleagues and the community. Known for his ability to make friends wherever he goes, Officer Hobby has become a beloved figure in local schools, where he serves as a School Resource Officer (SRO) and juvenile detective. His journey to this role is particularly inspiring; a survivor of the Bosnian Serbian war, he immigrated to the United States in the early 2000s and has since dedicated his life to public safety.

The meeting also acknowledged Officer Steve, who has taken on a significant role in officer safety training and community engagement. His commitment to teaching defensive tactics and enhancing the skills of fellow officers was commended, alongside his personal pursuits, including jujitsu and golf.

These recognitions not only celebrate individual accomplishments but also reflect the Brentwood Police Department's commitment to community safety and engagement.
