Huntsville County plans Centennial Courthouse celebration and discusses ongoing projects

Limestone County officials are gearing up for significant infrastructure improvements as discussions at the December 10, 2024, Commissioner’s Court meeting highlighted key projects and upcoming events.

A major focus was the approval of a $7,710 service contract aimed at facilitating a claim related to storm damage. This move follows a similar initiative from earlier in the year, demonstrating the county's proactive approach to disaster management and recovery. Officials expressed confidence in their protective measures, indicating that the county is well-prepared for future challenges.

Additionally, the court discussed a substantial $1,214,000 bid for a construction project, which involves driving a house and preparing materials. However, there was a decision to postpone action on this item, as it was determined that the total costs might not exceed the $50,000 threshold that would require further advertising for bids.

In a celebratory note, the meeting also marked the upcoming 100-year anniversary of the Limestone County Courthouse, set for December 17.
