Hot Springs awards ambulance services franchise to Survival Flight EMS LLC

The Hot Springs Board of Directors made a significant move during their recent meeting by awarding an exclusive franchise agreement to Survival Flight EMS LLC for medical emergency and non-emergency ambulance services. This decision follows a thorough evaluation process initiated by the city last November, which attracted proposals from four contractors.

Hot Springs Fire Department Chief Ed Davis presented the findings of the review committee, which included city officials and fire department leaders. They assessed each proposal based on qualifications, service methods, availability, cost, and the status of the business as a disadvantaged, woman, or minority-owned entity. The committee ranked the proposals, placing Bridal Flight EMS at the top, followed by Life Net Incorporated, Pafford Medical Services, and Southern Paramedic Services.

Survival Flight, a well-established player in the community for six years, operates an aeromedical helicopter and has a strong track record in ground EMS operations nationwide. With 700 employees across ten states, the company is poised to enhance emergency medical services in Hot Springs.

The board's decision to adopt the ordinance marks a pivotal step in improving local emergency response capabilities, ensuring that residents have access to reliable ambulance services. The next steps will involve finalizing the contract and integrating Survival Flight's services into the community's emergency response framework.
