Hicks highlighted several initiatives, including a stuffed animal drive for Child Abuse Awareness Month and a mural event that allowed children to express their feelings about love. The organization also launched Spanish programming to better serve the community’s diverse population.
Looking ahead, Next Step Ministries plans to develop a resource center to streamline services and improve accessibility for clients. As Hicks concluded her presentation, she underscored the importance of community support, stating, “Without the Kernersville community, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.” The Board of Aldermen listened intently, recognizing the profound impact of Next Step Ministries on the lives of many in their town.
