Korner's Valley Foundation reports growth and plans historic restorations in fiscal year 2024

The Kerners Valley Foundation is set to enhance its community impact with the upcoming restoration of historic Kerner's Folly, following a successful fiscal year that saw over 16,000 visitors engage with its programs and events. During the Town of Kernersville Board of Aldermen meeting on April 1, 2025, the Foundation's executive director highlighted significant achievements, including a 16% increase in visitation compared to the previous year, attributed to a diverse range of events and strategic marketing efforts.

The Foundation's funding sources for the fiscal year 2024 were diverse, with 35.2% coming from tours and programs, 33.2% from grants, and 25.1% from individual and corporate contributions. This financial support has enabled the completion of the new visitor center, which has become a hub for community engagement and educational programming. The center has also improved accessibility, offering virtual tours and enhanced facilities for visitors with mobility challenges.

Looking ahead, the Foundation plans to begin restoration of the South guest room and stairway in mid-April, aiming for completion by May 2025, coinciding with Historic Preservation Month. This project is part of a broader strategic plan to deepen community engagement and expand educational opportunities, including free programs like the "Taste of History."
