Nonprofit supplies contract yields significant price drops for toilet paper and towels

Cost-saving measures took center stage at the Clinton County Commissioner Meeting on April 1, 2025, as officials discussed a new agreement with a supplier that promises significant reductions in essential supplies.

The county has entered a five-year contract with a supplier that will provide dispensers for toilet paper and hand towels, alongside a remarkable price drop. The cost of Z-fold hand towels will decrease from $65 to $39, marking a 40% reduction. Similarly, toilet paper prices will plummet from $43 per case to just $21, a staggering 51% decrease.

Commissioners expressed enthusiasm about the deal, noting that it not only lowers costs but also enhances product availability. One commissioner highlighted that the new supplier's prices even beat those of Sam's Club, a popular bulk retailer, indicating a strong financial advantage for the county.
