South Salt Lake plans free community events including Easter egg hunt and Earth Day celebration

In the heart of South Salt Lake, the city council convened to discuss a range of community events and initiatives aimed at enhancing local engagement and support. The meeting also highlighted the importance of financial literacy, with Carice Thompson from the Utah Office of State Treasurer advocating for a proclamation to celebrate Financial Literacy Awareness Month. Thompson emphasized the need for financial education, especially in light of recent statistics showing that Utahns are grappling with significant household debt. She urged the council to support the mayor's initiative, noting that such a proclamation could greatly benefit the community.

In addition to these discussions, Mayor's comments included an announcement about the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Finch family interim non-congregate housing facility, scheduled for April 23 at 2:30 PM. This facility aims to provide essential housing support for families in need.
