Sullivan County Partnership announces new 100-job facility by Hudson Valley Fargo

The Sullivan County Economic Development Committee convened on April 3, 2025, to discuss significant developments in local economic activity and ongoing projects. The meeting highlighted a notable increase in economic engagement, with two major projects recently forwarded to the Industrial Development Agency (IDA).

One of the key projects involves the construction of a 10,000 square foot facility by a subsidiary of Hudson Valley Fargo. This new building, located at the Sutton East site near the airport, is expected to create approximately 100 jobs over the next 15 months. The company is experiencing rapid growth and aims to increase production by 40% to meet national demand for its alternative products.

Despite a slight uptick in unemployment rates, committee members emphasized that the creation of new jobs is a positive indicator for the local economy. The committee also discussed ongoing efforts to attract interest in the former PepsiCo facility, which has garnered five legitimate prospects. A national real estate broker is representing the site, which is considered a valuable asset due to its modern infrastructure, including ample parking and essential utilities.

The types of industries showing interest in the PepsiCo facility include a metal fabrication company from New Jersey and a plastics manufacturer, alongside a broker specializing in adaptive reuse of properties. The committee expressed optimism about the prospects for the site, noting the unusual level of interest compared to typical market conditions.

Additionally, the meeting touched on the ongoing processes for another project, Finpo, which is nearing completion. Overall, the discussions underscored a proactive approach to economic development in Sullivan County, with a focus on leveraging existing assets and fostering job creation.
