Pasco County residents can now conveniently purchase bus passes at the downtown New Port Richey Library, a new service that aims to enhance public transportation access in the community. This initiative, announced during the recent Pasco County Planning Commission meeting, responds directly to community requests for easier access to transportation options. Previously, residents had to navigate multiple bus routes to obtain passes, but this new partnership with Go Pasco streamlines the process, allowing for a single stop to buy 31-day regular and reduced bus passes, as well as 20-ride options.
The New Port Richey Public Library is positioned as an information hub for the West Pasco community, and this collaboration with Go Pasco is expected to significantly improve local transit accessibility. Residents can also purchase day passes directly on the bus, further simplifying their travel needs.

Residents were reminded that curbside recycling is included with trash service, and they can contact their waste hauler for pickup schedules or to order recycling carts. The county's recycling efforts involve sophisticated sorting processes to ensure materials are properly processed and repurposed, contributing to a cleaner environment.
Lastly, the meeting showcased a unique initiative involving training puppies to ride public transit. This program, conducted with the Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT), aims to familiarize service animals with bus environments, enhancing their ability to assist individuals with disabilities.
