The City of Sandpoint has taken a significant step towards enhancing its downtown infrastructure with the recent public bid opening for the downtown parking lot repaving project. Held on April 3, 2025, at City Hall, the meeting revealed six competitive bids from various contractors, showcasing a strong interest in the project.
Amber Williams, the grants, contracts, and procurement officer, led the proceedings alongside Cheryl Hughes, the central service director, and Eric Bush, the project manager. Other bids included $434,085 from Wink Incorporated and $594,675 from Stewart Contracting. The highest bid was from Interstate Concrete and Asphalt at $609.05. All bids included necessary documentation such as bid bonds and public works contractor licenses.
This project is expected to improve parking facilities in the downtown area, enhancing accessibility for residents and visitors alike. The city plans to review the bids further before making a final decision on the contractor, with the aim of commencing work soon.
