Scituate Town Council honors local achievements and discusses hazard mitigation plan

The Scituate Town Council convened for its regular meeting on December 12, 2024, at 7:49 PM, following a closed session where no votes or actions were taken. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and proceeded to several key agenda items.

The council recognized Sergeant Parente, who was awarded the Rhode Island State Grange Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for 2024. Although he was unable to attend, the council presented a proclamation in his honor.

Kim Jacobs, the project consultant, presented the updated plan, which aims to enhance the town's resilience against natural hazards such as flooding and hurricanes. The council opened the floor for public input, with plans to adopt the updated strategy following the hearing.
