Apalachee High School honors champions in athletics and academics at recognition event

The BCSS Board Meeting held on April 1, 2025, showcased a celebration of student achievements across various disciplines, highlighting the exceptional talents of local youth in sports, academics, and the arts.

The meeting began with the recognition of flag football and rifle team members, including Contagion Hardman, Keeley Robinson, and area champions Francis Beckmeier, Trenton Bagwell, and others. The board also honored all-region wrestlers, including Keenan Hur and Andrew Smith, for their outstanding performances.

Deidre Cooper from BASA presented students who excelled in competitive dance, winning titles in high kick and hip hop. The literary team was also acknowledged for their success at the state level, with Ellie Lalayan earning first place in Girls Solo.

Ralph Neely from Apalachee High School was recognized for his contributions to athletics and academics, receiving the Positive Male Athletics Director of the Year award and the GADA's Doctor Lucia B. Norman State Athletic Director of the Year award. Neely emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, noting that his school has won the cooperative sportsmanship award nine times under his leadership.

The meeting concluded with Mr. Lee Bain discussing the impressive achievements of the robotics team, which demonstrated their skills during the event. Bain expressed pride in the accomplishments of the students, emphasizing the positive impact they have on the community.
