Saint Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade committee promotes fundraising and volunteer efforts

One of the most significant announcements was the upcoming Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for May 25, 2025. The parade will take place along Harper Avenue, starting at Ridgeway and concluding at 11 Mile Road. Committee members, including chairwoman Pam Mason, detailed the extensive planning involved and called for volunteers to help with various tasks, including managing VIPs and assisting with logistics. The committee is actively seeking around 60 volunteers and will host a fundraiser dinner on May 1 at the VFW to support the event. Tickets for the dinner are priced at $20 for adults and $15 for children and seniors, with parade t-shirts available for $10.

In a more contentious discussion, Dino Servi, owner of Brico Excavating, defended his company against accusations related to the Florence and Ridgeway project. Servi expressed concern over the city’s decision to potentially award a $152,000 project to another contractor, citing a lack of communication regarding any issues with his company. He emphasized Brico's long-standing reputation and requested a fair opportunity to address the council's concerns.
