Improvements to Las Cruces Parks and Library Projects Highlight April Council Meeting

Cynthia Lamido, the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) manager, presented several amendments to the FY 2025-2030 Capital Improvements Program. Notably, a grant of $301,000 was accepted for La Casa, and $414,000 was added to the East Mesa Public Recreational Complex project. The Branigan Library renovation is also moving forward, with design work expected to be completed by late summer 2026. Library Deputy Director Sarah Booth emphasized the project’s commitment to preserving the library's original indigenous architectural elements.
Cedillo also highlighted the completion of two major infrastructure projects, including the full reconstruction of Bellamy Drive, which improved safety for pedestrians and upgraded utilities. The council unanimously approved the proposed resolutions, signaling strong support for these community-enhancing initiatives.
