Bowie Green Expo and Earth Day Events Planned for April and May

The Bowie City Council meeting on April 7, 2025, highlighted several upcoming events aimed at promoting environmental awareness in honor of Earth Day. The discussions centered around community initiatives led by the Bowie Green Team and local organizations.

One of the key events mentioned is the Bowie Green Expo, scheduled for December 12 at the Senior Center. This year's theme, "Our Planet, Our Power," will feature various sponsors, including the Bowie Croft and Garden Club, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and local businesses like Echo Oasis and Power Home Remodeling. The expo will provide residents with opportunities to learn about sustainable practices and electric vehicles.

Additionally, a significant Earth Day celebration will take place on April 19 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Organized by the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition, the event will include a 5K walk around the Capitol and the Washington Monument, starting at 10:00 AM after an opening ceremony at 9:30 AM.

Another noteworthy event is the Healthy Homes Fair, hosted by Electify DC on May 10 at Catholic University. This fair will focus on educating residents about improving home health through electric solutions and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
