A groundbreaking affordable housing project is set to transform the historic Saint Anselm's Church site in Garden Grove, with the City Council approving a significant funding award to support the initiative. The project, led by Domus Development in partnership with Korean Community Services (KCS), aims to create a healthy living campus that will provide stable homes and wellness support for low-income residents, particularly targeting the senior homeless population.
During the City Council meeting, officials highlighted the importance of the project, which not only seeks to address housing needs but also aims to preserve the church's legacy as a community refuge for over 50 years. The proposed development will include 21 project-based vouchers and a loan of up to $2 million sourced from the Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) funds. This funding will enable the developer to finalize project designs, secure additional financing, and prepare for construction.
