During the recent council meeting, officials revealed that Luzerne County Children and Youth Services investigated 841 cases of child abuse and provided support to 414 families in the past year.
The proclamation emphasizes the critical role of community partnerships in preventing child maltreatment and promoting the well-being of children and families. The meeting also recognized National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, honoring the vital role of telecommunicators in emergency response. The council proclaimed the week of April 13, 2025, to celebrate the dedication and professionalism of these essential workers who ensure the safety of first responders and the community.
