Loop Railroad Club announces free spring train show at Aspen Builder Center

The Tehachapi Loop Railroad Club held a meeting on April 9, 2025, to discuss preparations for their upcoming Spring Train Show, scheduled for later this month. The meeting emphasized the club's commitment to providing an engaging experience for attendees of all ages, highlighting the importance of adult supervision for participants under 18.

Club representatives noted that the event will feature a variety of exhibitors, including SoCal, Antelope Valley N Scalers, and the High Desert Modular Model Railroad Club, showcasing different scales of model trains. Notable attractions include a G scale tower created by Nick Mora and a special appearance by Derek Mackey, who will present a Thomas the Tank Engine display. The show aims to cater to both young children and adult enthusiasts, offering everything from toy trains to intricate model layouts.

The Spring Train Show will take place at the Aspen Builders Center, located at 410 D Street, previously known as the West Park Activity Center. Admission to the event is free, although the club will host a bake sale to help cover operational costs. Donations will also be accepted to support the event.

Historically, the train shows have attracted between 350 to 400 visitors, providing a unique opportunity for community engagement. The club reported a positive response from previous events, noting an increase in membership following the last show in August, which brought in four new members.

Promotional efforts for the Spring Train Show include social media outreach and distributing flyers to raise awareness. Club members encouraged the community to attend, emphasizing the event as a chance to explore the world of model railroading and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
