The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce launched its new Business Spotlight Series on April 9, 2025, featuring Chatterbox Catering, a local catering business owned by Kathy Habits. The series aims to highlight local businesses and their contributions to the community, with support from sponsors including HoChunk Gaming Nakusa and Mid State Technical College.

Kathy Habits shared insights about Chatterbox Catering, which serves Central Wisconsin and beyond. The business is set to cater 33 weddings this year and will operate a food truck at various events, including "Lunch by the River" every Thursday during the summer. Habits emphasized the versatility of her catering services, which cater to a wide range of events from corporate meetings to family reunions.

Chatterbox Catering operates from a brick-and-mortar location that was formerly Bancroft State Bank. Habits mentioned that she has converted a 40-foot Freightliner bus into a food truck to expand her services. Additionally, she is collaborating with Milltown Coffee, which will take over the restaurant portion of her building, allowing her to focus solely on catering.

The meeting also highlighted the Kellner House vacation rental, another venture of Habits, showcasing her diverse business interests. The Chamber encouraged community members to support local businesses like Chatterbox Catering and to participate in upcoming events, reinforcing the importance of local engagement and support for the economy.
