Sierra Madre City Council Proclaims April 2025 National Library Week

The Sierra Madre City Council meeting on April 8, 2025, highlighted the upcoming Wisteria Festival, set to take place this Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Chris Cimino, representing the Chamber of Commerce, announced that the festival will feature over a hundred vendors, a car show with more than a hundred cars, and a variety of activities for children, including inflatable play areas and carnival games. This year’s event is particularly exciting as it will be held on a Saturday, allowing local businesses to benefit from increased foot traffic.

Cimino expressed enthusiasm for the festival's new layout, which will include live music in downtown areas rather than just in Kirsten Court, enhancing the overall experience for attendees. He also acknowledged the efforts of the public works staff in managing recent mudslides, commending their quick response and dedication to keeping the community safe.

In addition to the festival announcement, the council recognized National Library Week with a proclamation celebrating the vital role libraries play in fostering creativity, learning, and community engagement. Mayor Robert Parkhurst emphasized the importance of libraries as hubs of knowledge and resources, encouraging residents to explore their local library during this special week.
