Hahn Homes outlines 20-home subdivision plan in Norton, Ohio

The Norton Planning Commission meeting on April 8, 2025, focused on the progress of a residential development project and its compliance with city regulations. The project, which was approved in 2024, involves the construction of 20 homes on a 13-acre property, emphasizing green and open space.

Keenan Hahn, president of Hahn Homes, provided an update on the development's status. He reported that while road construction began in early 2024, winter weather halted progress, leaving the road unpaved. Currently, all utilities are installed, and the road is rough graded, with plans to pave it as soon as weather permits, likely by late spring or early summer.

The development includes a homeowners association (HOA) that will manage maintenance tasks such as snow removal and lawn care, ensuring the neighborhood remains well-kept. Hahn also mentioned that the subdivision will offer a mix of ranch and colonial-style homes, with sizes ranging from 1,800 to 2,400 square feet.

The commission discussed the final stormwater management plan, which is under review by the city engineer. Hahn confirmed that the project has met all necessary requirements thus far. The roads within the development will be dedicated to the city of Norton for maintenance, while the HOA will handle private areas.

In terms of pricing, Hahn indicated that lot prices would range from the sixties to the nineties, with total costs for homes expected to start in the low $400,000s and potentially reach the mid $500,000s.

The meeting concluded with the understanding that the project will proceed to city council for further approvals, with a final site plan to be submitted once construction progresses. This development marks a significant step in addressing housing needs in Norton while maintaining community standards.
