La Porte School District progresses on stadium and junior high renovations

La Porte ISD is making significant strides in its ongoing construction and renovation projects, as highlighted in the recent board meeting held on April 8, 2025. The meeting showcased updates on the Legacy Complex and La Porte High School renovations, with officials expressing excitement over the progress being made.

Key developments include the installation of a new sound system and flooring in the Legacy Complex, which is nearing completion. The textured coating in wet areas of the locker room is also underway, and the weight room floors are beginning to take shape with the addition of logos. A comprehensive punch list of over 600 items is being addressed to ensure all details are finalized before the full release of the facility.

In addition to the Legacy Complex, construction is ramping up at Lomax Junior High, where the slab is expected to be poured shortly. The structural steel is already set to cure, promising visible progress in the coming days. These enhancements are anticipated to benefit not only students and staff but also the broader community.

Safety remains a priority, with intruder detection audits nearing completion across campuses. Recent inspections at Rizzuto and DeWalt campuses yielded no findings, reinforcing the district's commitment to maintaining secure environments for students.
