Engineer McCallops, the city engineer, told the committee the city expects Ohio Public Works Commission funds to resurface Gulf Road after July 1 and wants the water-main replacement completed before resurfacing begins. “What we want to do is move forward with the replacement of a water main on that section of gulf between Vista and Hilliard, where we would be upgrading an existing 6 inch to a 12 inch,” McCallops said.

He told the committee the finance department has been provided the project details for internal funding adjustments.

The engineer said the plans place the new main near the center or just west of center of the road and that the route will be in the roadway; as a result, “during this construction project, the road will need to be closed through traffic.” He estimated the work would take about 90 days once started.
