Oshkosh School Board celebrates election results and student achievements

The Oshkosh Area Board of Education convened on April 9, 2025, to discuss several key topics, including community engagement in recent elections, student achievements, and upcoming events in the district.

The meeting began with an acknowledgment of the land's indigenous history, recognizing the Ho Chunk Nation and Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. This gesture highlighted the board's commitment to honoring the ancestral lands of the area.

Board President expressed gratitude to the community for participating in the recent elections, emphasizing the importance of the listening sessions that fostered valuable discussions about local priorities. Notably, the Wave Robotics team qualified for the world championships for the second consecutive year, showcasing the district's commitment to STEM education.

Upcoming events were also discussed, including the state solo ensemble competition, prom, and the spring play, "The Tempest." The board noted the collaborative efforts between West and North High Schools, particularly in organizing a prom dress closet to support students.
