The Woodstock City Council meeting on March 24, 2025, focused on significant zoning map amendments and a proposed zone text amendment aimed at updating residential development procedures.
During the meeting, the council held its first public hearing regarding the March zoning map update, which included four key amendments. These amendments were necessary to officially adopt changes that had occurred since the last update. The amendments included the rezoning of various parcels for different developments, such as a grocery store and townhome communities. Notably, the council approved the rezoning of a parcel on Neese Road to increase the number of units in the Winsome Park subdivision, as well as the rezoning of parcels along Towne Lake Parkway for a grocery store and additional buildings.

After the public hearing, which saw no community members sign up to speak, the council moved to approve the zoning map amendments with a unanimous vote of 6-0.
Additionally, the council introduced a zone text amendment concerning the completion and maintenance of public improvements in residential developments. This amendment, prepared by planning staff, aims to streamline procedural requirements for projects that have already received necessary permits, ensuring they are exempt from new regulations once the ordinance is enacted.
The council plans to hold a second reading of the zone text amendment in April, pending tonight's action. This meeting marks a proactive step by the Woodstock City Council to manage growth and development effectively within the community.
