Vidalgo Middle School honors outstanding students and staff at recognition ceremony

The Vidalgo Middle School community gathered to celebrate the achievements of outstanding students and staff during a recognition ceremony on April 10, 2025. The event highlighted the dedication and positive contributions of both students and faculty, showcasing the values of hard work, respect, and collaboration that define the school.

Among the students honored were Maya, Emma Galbraith, Alexa, Benjamin Shimoni, and Skyland Phobia. Each was selected by their eighth-grade teachers for their exceptional qualities. Maya was recognized for her strong work ethic and respectful demeanor, which foster a positive classroom environment. Emma's enthusiasm and engagement in discussions inspire her peers, while Alexa consistently exceeds expectations in her assignments, contributing to a collaborative atmosphere. Benjamin's focus and willingness to take risks enhance his learning and that of his classmates. Skyland's creativity and critical thinking bring fresh perspectives to class projects, making her a valuable contributor.

The ceremony also acknowledged the contributions of staff members. Dawn Reyna, a sixth-grade teacher, was celebrated for her proactive approach to supporting students and mentoring new teachers. Her leadership and problem-solving skills have made a significant impact on the school community. Nariah Rivera Lopez, the attendance assistant, was recognized for her cheerful presence and dedication over seven years, embodying the school's core values and positively influencing students and staff alike.
