Township approves solar panel installation and new well drilling permits

A representative reported that one foundation for a culvert had been completed, with plans for another foundation to be set soon. The cost for replacing a normal culvert was estimated at around $1,000 for smaller pipes and $2,000 for larger ones, with an average of eight hours of work required for installation. This year, eight culverts have been replaced, adding to the nine completed last year. However, the township still has a significant backlog, with 237 culverts needing replacement.

Following the infrastructure updates, the supervisors addressed the installation of new cameras and microphones for the township's meeting system. It was noted that the cameras had been ordered, but the integrated microphones were on back order, delaying installation. The supervisors clarified that the current contract only covered equipment and installation, and there were no plans to incorporate Zoom capabilities for virtual participation at this time.

In terms of permits, the township issued several approvals, including a permit for a new well at 185 Goodyear Road and a permit for the installation of 14 rooftop solar panels at 60 Tracy Drive. Additionally, occupancy permits were granted for various residential projects, including a porch and deck renovation and a new two-story single-family dwelling.

The meeting concluded with no further reports from the supervisors, marking a productive session focused on infrastructure and community development. The township continues to address its culvert replacement needs while facilitating residential improvements through permit approvals.
