ACP and Basha High School leaders highlight recent student accomplishments at CUSD meeting

The Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) Governing Board meeting on April 10, 2025, showcased the vibrant achievements of local high schools, with student body presidents from ACP and Basha High Schools presenting their accomplishments and upcoming events.

Lena Dow, the student body president of ACP High School, highlighted a successful homecoming week themed around New Orleans and Disney's "Princess and the Frog." The festivities included a lively assembly, a Dig Pink volleyball game for breast cancer awareness, and a new event called Battle of the Bands. Dow also reported on community service initiatives, including crafting holiday decorations for local seniors and a significant presence at the Arizona Association of Student Council State Convention, where ACP earned the platinum level of community service.

Basha High School's student body president, Lauren Gonzalez, shared similar enthusiasm, detailing events like the annual trunk or treat and a holiday gift drive that supported 102 children in need. Gonzalez emphasized the school's commitment to community engagement through various clubs, including a successful blood drive by the National Honor Society. She also celebrated the school's athletic achievements, noting that both the football and basketball teams had standout seasons, with individual players reaching significant milestones.

Superintendent Narducci praised the collaborative efforts of student leaders and staff in organizing events, particularly the recent CUSD student council convention hosted at ACP High School. He also recognized six educators for achieving or maintaining their National Board of Professional Teaching Standards certifications, underscoring the district's commitment to educational excellence.

The meeting not only highlighted the accomplishments of students and staff but also reinforced the importance of community involvement and support in fostering a thriving educational environment. As the school year progresses, both ACP and Basha High Schools are set to continue their tradition of excellence and community service, with exciting events on the horizon.
