Andrews Sports Medicine plans new 147000 square foot facility at Brookwood Village

In a pivotal meeting held on April 7, 2025, the Homewood Planning & Development Committee unveiled ambitious plans for the redevelopment of the Brookwood Village site, a project poised to reshape the local healthcare landscape. Under the bright lights of city hall, committee members and stakeholders gathered to discuss the transformation of the existing Belt Building and surrounding areas into a state-of-the-art medical facility.

The proposed development will encompass approximately 147,000 square feet across 3.377 acres, featuring a mix of new construction and renovations. A significant highlight of the project is the addition of a 32,000 square foot building, which will include 29,500 square feet of new space and 2,000 square feet of renovated area. Construction is slated to begin in July 2025, with substantial completion expected by December 2026 and the facility anticipated to welcome its first patients in March 2027.

Parking logistics were a key focus during the meeting, with plans for a total of 625 parking spaces to accommodate clinic staff, patients, and visitors. The design includes multiple levels of parking, ensuring accessibility for all who will utilize the new facility. The redevelopment will also feature a comprehensive clinic with 12 clinical pods, 60 exam rooms, and specialized areas for orthopedic and pain management services.

The surgery center, located on the second floor, will boast 18 operating rooms and a total of 51 beds dedicated to outpatient care. This facility will not include inpatient services, but transfer agreements are in place with neighboring hospitals for any necessary emergencies.
